The Empowered MOMents. By Request, I am reposting my post and video to “We Build Our Lives In Moments.” We Build Our Lives In Moments. Magical Moments. I just saw this AMAZING video I have to share with you. Puts things in perspective and is a reminder of the glory in the small things, the…
Today’s Empowered Moms are constantly re-evaluating what it means to “have it all” and creating new ways to balance family and work.
“The Mommy Wars” of the past decades, which pitted stay-at-home mothers against those in the workforce, have changed. There’s less camaraderie now between women in both camps and more isolation as mothers have such varied lives, both at work and at home.
I love writing. And writing well. It’s sort of like crafting a good recipe and meal.
I love to read good writing almost as crating it myself.
So when I came across Melody Godfred’s blog, Write in Color, it was like finding an old friend. If you love good writing – go here – often.
So with props to both Tina (for the writing) and Melody (for the sharing), I want to make sure my peeps get a chance to enjoy this little treasure.

We Build Our Lives In Moments. Magical Moments. I just saw this AMAZING video I have to share with you. Puts things in perspective and is a reminder of the glory in the small things, the power of possibility, the HUGE wonder and the GIFT in our everyday. (Get your tissue ready.) This video is…
I’ve been doing lots of reading lately. I’m studying what makes some of these mom blogs so successful. And along the way I am finding some that I really like. It’s interesting that I’m drawn to original, well written content. Some of it so good, I want to share them with you.
When you ask a working mom about how she does it all, it either puts her in the position to say something disparaging about herself (check) or deliver an answer that makes the questioner feel somehow inadequate for doing less.
So here’s how this works, and you can probably relate… I get these brilliant ideas for a story, or a story idea — even a tidbit of juiciness–sparks of creativity—glimpses of genius—and I race to capture them. Before they race away into the vast recesses of my grey matter.
So I have probably oh, I don’t know, 27 posts ‘pending’. 27 drafts. Works in ‘progress’.
This might bother a sane mind.
It would bother my insane mind if IDIDN’T have a bunch of inspiration to work with. Cuz, Baby, you gotta strike while the iron is hot, the sparks are flying, guns are blazin’…. and ya gotta fit it in somewhere between the phone calls, the emails, the kids throwing toys across the room, and pouring yourself another glass a wine.
One of those juicy tidbits of mine was called, “Unfinished.”
Here’s all it said:
If there is one thing you should invest in today. It’s yourself.
Here’s how. Here’s five things you can do TODAY to Empower Yourself.
50 EMPOWERING WORDS Suffice to say, words CHANGE LIVES. They move us to move mountains. They break spirits. They can also build, embolden, and yes, EMPOWER. Words have brilliance and the potential power to unleash emotions strong enough to overwhelm each and every one of us. Words incite us, inspire us, make us fall…
“No.” Go ahead, repeat it. No. Such BIG power in such a small word. Board meeting at work, extra time on the job, extra points with the boss, volunteer coordinator, extra project, neighborhood committee, lunch, social event, charity event, church function, baseball game… the list goes on and on to the demands on our time…
Pinch me. Go ahead! Because it still seems like a dream – only it’s A DREAM COME TRUE! Like this photo: Mr. Zig Ziglar and me after my speaking engagement! The Empowered Mom – more empowered than ever! I was asked to do a presentation about The Empowered Mom at Zig Ziglar’s Corporate Headquarters Monday morning. Wow!…
