Curse You, Cursor!!

There you are.

On. Off. On. Off. On. Off.

Waiting. Taunting. Teasing. Beckoning. WAITING. and BLINKING BLINKING BLINKING.

That damn cursor!

Have you ever had tons of work to do and yet stared at a blank screen?  That’s what happened to me today.  If you have EVER struggled for thoughts, words and and simply blankly stare down at the screen, the keyboard and that infinite blinking cursor – then you can NOT miss this!  This is how I kicked my cursor’s butt this morning!!  This will definitely inspire you and make you laugh!  Read on for how I turned my ‘damnit!’ into this ditty.

Ode to the Blinking Cursor: CURSE YOU, CURSOR!!

It blinks at me when the words won’t work.
It blinks at me as they sputter and jerk.
It blinks at me as if impatiently –
Pleading, “PLEASE pluck away at me!”
It blinks at me in a stone-cold glare
All the while a blank screen waiting there.
It blinks at me in perfect beat and time –
Waiting for me to pen both rhythm and rhyme.
Though sometimes, when I need it the most
It blinks and then yet- there remains no post.
Why dost thee forge its tortuous blinks?
Merely to unleash pain ceaselessly, me thinks.
Yet look! I begin in vain –
To end the blinking’s infinite pain.
And before I know, the blinking stops –
If only for a sec – wait? What are those pops?
That clicking, that patter, that tapping away –
Replacing the blinking with words here to play.
At least for a time, a playdate of sorts –
Thoughts that gather and stay as my fun cohorts.
If only forever, but i know just for now.
We have fun and create this ditty somehow.
But I fear… for the blinking, it returns. I sigh, “Alas -“
Ah well, for now the cursor can just kiss my ass.

I hope you enjoyed my fun for this Monday – and if you ever need more, just know I will be tapping away – either that or staring at the blinking and yes, cursing, “CURSE YOU, CURSOR!”

When someone writes an article he/she retains the image of a user in his/her brain that how a user can know it. Thus that’s why this article is amazing. Thanks!
